Cheer and festivity all around at VivoCity as it celebrates its fifth anniversary
01 December 2011, Singapore – Singapore’s largest retail and lifestyle destination, VivoCity, commemorates its fifth anniversary with their signature tradition of a fireworks display specially choreographed by Nick Spiteri of Italy, and the launch of a Christmas musical, Winter Dream. A diverse line-up of activities has also been lined-up for shoppers during this Christmas season. VivoCity is also proud to be the Grand Patron of the on-going Elephant Parade exhibition in Singapore and in addition, the mall will play host to Logos Hope, the ship with the world’s largest floating book fair.

An Enchanting Christmas Story
Featuring spectacular song and dance as well as amazing cirque-inspired acts, Winter Dream is a 30-minute heart-warming musical about a young boy’s fascinating journey into the mythical land of ice and snow, in search of the true spirit of Christmas.
Shoppers will have the opportunity to watch the specially choreographed show from 2 – 11 December. They just need to spend a minimum of $100 from 21 November to 11 December to redeem a pass for two. OCBC Credit/Debit Cardmembers only need to charge $80 to qualify.
Big Celebrations, Big Guests!
A herd of 25 life-sized beautifully hand-painted elephant sculptures designed by international and local celebrities and artists have been on display at VivoCity’s Sky Park and The Plaza since 11 November and this open-air art exhibition will last till 6 January 2012. Positioned to make art accessible to all its visitors, VivoCity is delighted to work with Elephant Parade to showcase another art form to its shoppers and at the same time, help to raise awareness about the endangered Asian Elephant.
In conjunction with the exhibition, VivoCity recently set a new entry in the Singapore Book of Records on 19 November for The Largest Display of Hand-Painted Elephants. The event involved 443 shoppers of all ages who came together to paint their own elephant sculptures simultaneously and form the largest herd of hand-painted elephants in Singapore.
Logos Hope to Berth in VivoCity!
Logos Hope, the ship with the world largest floating book fair, will berth at VivoCity from 16 to 30 December, marking her historic first visit to Singapore. With her international crew and cargo of over half a million books, Logos Hope is celebrating Christmas in Singapore with a unique Christmas cultural performance on 17 and 18 December at VivoCity’s Amphitheatre. The Ship’s company will present a taste of diverse cultures and showcase how various nationalities celebrate Christmas in their home countries.

VivoCity’s iconic Christmas tree at the Sky Park that “grows” a foot taller every year to a towering 105ft tall this year will brighten up the nightscape and make a perfect snapshot for all shoppers. The shopping hours will also be extended till 11pm on 16, 17, 22 and 23 Dec to allow shoppers more time to complete their Christmas shopping. Besides the entertaining events and activities, shoppers will also stand a chance to win a 1.5carat diamond necklace in the lucky draw and enjoy a host of shopping rewards and exclusive offers during the festive season.
